When should I get a remedial massage?

Remedial massage can be beneficial at any time, but there are certain situations where it can be particularly helpful for your body.

1. When you’re in pain

If your pain has come on after something that seems like muscular use or misuse — a huge week at work, a particularly hard training session, or even a terrible night’s sleep — this is the kind of pain remedial massage can be great at addressing.

2. When you’re working towards a goal

Training for a marathon? Preparing for a big hike? Trying to get through a competitive season with an extra edge?

Regular massage can help keep your body moving well and address small issues before they become bigger ones. Think of it as a monthly check-in to keep you feeling and performing at your best.

3. When you’re not recovering the way you should

Sometimes you simply start getting tight more often — or faster than you used to.

You go to do a set of squats and you’re already sore during the warm-up. Or you sit down at your desk and your shoulder is uncomfortable within the first 10 minutes, rather than at the end of the day.

This can be a sign that your body needs a little extra help. A remedial massage can help address those areas of tension and get you back to moving and performing at your best.

There are plenty of reasons to have a remedial massage, but these are some of the most common ones we see in the clinic.

Want to see how remedial massage could help you?

Book in online and see how we can get you feeling your best!

            Just a quick note :)

We provide Sports Massage and Remedial Massage to our clients. Should you wish for a relaxing massage, it is not something that we offer. Our Massage is not full body massage as we seek to treat musculoskeletal issues and there just isn't enough time in the session to do this whilst massaging the whole body. Should you wish this type of treatment, you could consider booking at a spa that offers 'Deep Tissue' (We know of some fantastic therapists that can help you out here; shoot us an email for our recommendations).

Our massage therapists are happy to answer any questions regarding treatments via email. We do not diagnose, but we do offer guidance to clients regarding upkeep of their physical bodies, using our experience in the field as well as constant related research. If we cannot help you (although it is exceedingly rare that we can't help at all), we are happy to suggest which allied or health professional should be your next stop.

As we provide Remedial Massage in all of our treatments, all Massage Performed at our Potts Point Clinic is eligible for Health Fund Rebates.

We also do not currently provide pregnancy massage. We do not have the equipment for it, nor the techniques although we are happy to refer you on to those that do!

In the spirit of reconciliation the Anatomy of Movement Clinic acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
